Ernest S. Powell

 

Ernest S. Powell, owner of EMS Education, currently maintains his Paramedic training at a local hospital, where he provides primary advanced emergency care to over 16 municipalities. Mr. Powell is part of the Exercise Design Team from Chester County. This team creates exercise design, evaluation, and facilitation of exercises. The team assists local jurisdictions, emergency response agencies and businesses in development of multi-year Comprehensive Exercise Programs to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans.

Mr. Powell has vast experience in Emergency Services not only as a provider but as an educator and policy advisor. As a provider he has served as a fire fighter, EMT, Paramedic, Rescue Technician, and has worked with local tactical police teams to assist in providing tactical EMS care. He has instructor privileges with multiple organizations such as but not limited to: The American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety Health Institute, International Trauma Life Support, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As a policy advisor he has assisted several organizations with creating policy to be compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.

Mr. Powell over his 15 years in Emergency Services has attended several courses through out his career, including achieving the Master Exercise Practitioner title at the National Emergency Management Training Center in Emmitsburg MD. He has also attended several train the trainer programs such as the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program and Instructor Trainer with the American Safety Health Institute and the American Heart Assocation.
