Keith
Simpkins is a recently re-certified emergency medical technician.
After providing emergency medical services for over fifteen years,
Keith decided to leave the medical field in 2003. In 2006, Keith
had the opportunity to re-certify and re-enter the emergency medical
services field.
Through
the 80's and 90's, Keith was highly active as an EMT in the Salem
County, NJ area taking his initial first aid classes while still
in high school in 1985. From five-point first aid certification
to eight-point certification, Keith has seen and participated
in the evolution of EMS. As a BLS provider, Keith has treated
thousands of patients over the years.
A
well-rounded emergency services provider, Keith has excelled not
only in EMS but in fire/rescue operations as well. Keith has attained
NFPA Level II Firefighter certification. To this day, he remains
an active member with the Christiana Fire Company in Bear, Delaware.
Professionally,
Keith is a Communications Supervisor with the Chester County,
Department of Emergency Services where he manages a staff of seventeen
highly trained telecommunicators. As part of his work with the
County of Chester, he has achieved the Master Exercise Practitioner
title at the National Emergency Management Training Center in
Emmitsburg MD.
